Account & Data Deletion

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Right to deletion, हटाने का अधिकार

You can permanently delete your Chanakyaverse account and all data associated with it at any time. We comply with the Google Play Store data deletion policy, the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023, and the EU GDPR.

How to delete your account from within the app

  1. Open Chanakyaverse on your phone
  2. Tap You in the bottom tab bar
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
  4. Confirm. Deletion is irreversible and happens within 30 seconds.

How to delete your account by email

If you cannot access the app, email privacy@chanakyaverse.in from the address associated with your account. Subject line: Account deletion request.

We will confirm deletion within 7 business days and complete it within 30 days, per DPDP Act.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile (name, email, avatar)
  • Your preferences (delivery time, notification settings, language)
  • Your bookmarks and saved verses
  • Your journal entries and reflections
  • Your streak history
  • Your subscription record (if any)
  • Your verse view history

What does NOT get deleted

The following are retained for legitimate business reasons:

  • Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (we cannot identify you from these)
  • Anonymised payment receipts retained for 7 years per Indian financial regulations
  • Anonymised security logs retained for 90 days for fraud prevention

Suspension vs deletion

Want to take a break without losing your data? Sign out of the app instead. Your data stays on our servers until you sign back in, with no deletion.

To pause sync but keep the app: in You → Daily notifications, toggle off.

App store deletion

Deleting the Chanakyaverse app from your phone does NOT delete your server account. To delete your account, follow the steps above first, then uninstall.
